GOOD LEADERSHIP AND RELIGIOUS ADMINISTRATION - THE BASIS FOR CHURCH GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

The seminar of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim, Ijebu Province held on Saturday, 30 October, 2021 at the Conference Hotel (Abeokuta/Ijebu-Ode Hall).

The seminar was tagged "LEADERSHIP AND RELIGIOUS ADMINISTRATION"

The 1-day seminar was MANDATORY for all Elders & Women from Apostle and Prophetess upwards; and for Elders in charge, as well as District and Branch Chairmen and Secretaries.

The Provincial Chairman, Super Apostle Segun Demuren, in his welcome address, emphasized the essence of the seminar which was to enlighten and train every elder and member, who are holding key posts within the province, districts and branches; on what is expected of them in the course of the discharge of their duties within the church. He admonished all participants to make good use of the teaching.

The seminar, which was facilitated by renowned scholars within the ESOCS church and a medical professional, was well attended by concerned stakeholders.

Sp. Snr. Ap. Amos Ajayi, in his lecture titled CONVERTING AND SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIP IN THE HOLY ORDER - COMMUNICATION SKILLS AS PRIESTS  said "Nobody will build this Church for us. Through our attitude, behavior, action, adherence to the doctrine of the Church and persistent evangelism, we shall convert more souls for Christ."


In the lecture titled EFFECTIVE TEAM LEADERSHIP SKILLS, Snr Ap. (Dr) Samson Bello, charged all stakeholders in the province to "see themselves as team leaders who understand that the district or branch is a team, a group of individuals who must work together towards the achievement of a common goal." The lecture also looked into the ESOCS rules & regulations (do’s and don’ts for elders in the province) as well as the duties and roles of Elders in-charge and District Chairmen.
 

Mother-in-Israel Veronica Y. Sanwo, who discussed FINANCIAL DISCIPLINE, PROPER MANAGEMENT OF CHURCH FUNDS AND SEPARATION OF PERSONAL EXPENSES FROM CHURCH EXPENSES, advised every participant (especially those entrusted with church funds) to adopt integrity and be true to the responsibilities they are saddled with. She admonished everyone not to be like Judas Iscariot. She said "No one will say money is not good.  It is needed in all aspects of life; but excessive love of money, or making money in a dishonest way" is bad and ungodly.


Snr. Ap. Michael Olubi discussed CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND PROMOTING PEACE AND LOVE at length. He affirms that every participant is the solution to resolving problems that may arise within the church. He charged everyone to Forgive and establish love with one another” in order to “build a stronger and better Church for future generations” through our attitudes and character.


The side lecture at the seminar was the Health Talk which was taken by Dr. Oludotun Osikoya, a Senior Medical Officer of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu. He exposed participants to Hypertension as a silent killer, its prevention and management.


The seminar was graced by Special Senior Apostle Samuel A. Sanwo, the immediate past Chairman of ESOCS, Ijebu Province.
